I've never been a print mixer but it is on my list of Style To-Dos (things i will try one day, even if it's only once).I tend to stay in my style lane and usually choose one print as the foundation for my outfit. I hope print mixing will cure my boredom with this current routine. Print Mixing: The art of combining two visibly different patterns while staying seamlessly "fly".(yeah i kinda made that definition up :-) Well, before i give my print mixing an attempt in the real world, i chose to experiment on Polyvore.
While doing this i figured out there are different ways to mix prints. here's the 3 i found. 1. Pair similar colors but different print patterns (outfit 1) 2. Pair two neutral colors of the same pattern, but make sure one has a larger scale than the other (outfit 2) 3. Pair items with one similar element like stripes (outfit 3) Any other tips before I try this Print Mixing thing out? Find AA on Facebook ** Follow AA on Twitter ** Shop Avid Accents Apparel

ReplyDeleteI agree with your 3 ways on how to mix prints, that's the way to do it!
I like the new simple layout.
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried the print mixing much either, wait maybe not at all. I'm timid about it, but then I realized I don't have a lot of printed bottoms to work with.
I love the new layout...I find it's easier to read like this!
