DIY Dilemma: My Jewelry is Tarnished

About once a month I try to clean out my jewelry collection, weeding out the broken and tarnished pieces.
and every time, like clockwork, i always find something i can't seem to throw away.

Over these past couple months my cast away pile has reached it's limit and i figure i should start DIYing some of this stuff to bring it back to life.

There's the goods.

By taking some of my cast away jewelry pieces, a steady hand and a little nail polish (yes, you read that right), i think i have revived these pieces for a colorful spring debut!

If you have a simple necklace with modern lines that's tarnished and dull.

Bring out the features with two coordinating colors

If you have a some earrings with intricate detail but have lost their diva feel

try a three color combo bold enough to take you to the islands.

Lastly, if you are missing stones (ugh i hate missing stones). they are usually hard to match and sometimes cost more than the original piece of jewelry.

Paint in a new design to conceal the missing stones.

By spending $0.00 (i always like that number :), i have turned these pieces from trash to my new colorful spring treasures.

Ya'll know what to do. Get that old costume jewelry out and try painting some life back into it.

P.S. Yep, this post is off schedule but I had to help the little one last night with his Derby float and Derby hat for school. You know we had to come up with something super creative that would have all the kids oooohing and aaaahing. I forgot to take pics but if he brings it home in one piece i'll show you what we created.
