What i Wore: The Need for Curvy

Over the weekend I attended an open house for a new Project Curve Appeal chapter forming in Louisville. If you haven't heard of it, Project Curve Appeal is a nationally organized group celebrating the beauty of women with curves (specifically sizes 12-26). After leaving the meeting i felt encouraged, inspired and confident in my curves. Not to say i didn't feel this way before, there was just a little extra energy running through me.

The main reason i felt great about this new group is because it's much needed in the Louisville area. A group that celebrates curviness along with staying healthy will elevate the self esteem and self image of the many plus size women in this city. Louisville has some amazing, intelligent, beautiful women but when it comes down to the number on a clothing tag, alot of the confidence is suddenly lost. This is what needs to change.

Whether it's the fabulous real women bloggers, curvy focused Magazines like Plus Model Mag or the ultimate curvy fashion showcase Full Figured Fashion Week, all of these outlets are essential to change. They provide a platform for a group that has been ignored in fashion/beauty for so long yet walk the streets in every city daily. They also provide a positive outlook to girls growing up with a little more curve in their hip. All in all, they provide change and a new outlook for the future fashion image.

Honestly, i don't know how this new group will turn out but i do know it has the potential to start something great. Something that will build a community of women promoting sisterhood, healthy lifestyles and curvy confidence.

i was giving somebody the eye...lol!

To me curvy is the woman that doesn't have the size/ body type often celebrated in media. Of course, Plus size has it's certain size ranges in the fashion world.
Tell me, Do you consider yourself Curvy?
